Cantabile’s holiday concerts are back! For our 25th annual holiday concert, we celebrate our Silver Anniversary with a collection of chorister and audience favourites, along with beautiful new works. A beloved annual tradition for many Kingstonians, Cantabile’s holiday concerts are known for a delightful mix of winter songs, festive world music, and traditional carols by candlelight.
SILVER WINTER has 3 live performances, plus a virtual recording on demand.

A Choral Christmas
It just doesn’t feel like Christmas without choral music – not to us, anyway. Kingston Choral Society is very happy to invite audiences to join us in a celebration of the season on Tuesday, December 14, 7:30 PM at The Spire.

Finding Hope
TOGETHER ONCE AGAIN ON WORLD CHOIR DAY
Join the Kingston Chamber Choir in their return to singing with a beautiful selection of seasonal and non-seasonal music. Live streamed directly from the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts on December 12th at 2:30PM ET this concert centres around finding hope during our unprecedented times, and gathering with community as we return to singing and pre-pandemic activities.
This concert includes the world premiere of On the beach at night, a commissioned work by eminent composer Matthew Emery. It will feature your Kingston Chamber Choir, children’s choir (courtesy of the Cantabile singers of Kingston) and a Virtual Choir comprised of members from throughout the Kingston community.
Other selections from this concert include Only in Sleep, Ubi Caritas (featuring Clare Marion), Stars, and other seasonal favorites. It is sure to inspire hope and warmth in a time when we may need it most.
Tickets are by donation, with a suggested donation of $15.00 per person. Donations of $50+ will receive a tax receipt.
In advance of the concert date, a unique link to the livestream will be provided to valid ticket holders.
We hope you will join us for Finding Hope. It promises to be a concert of warmth and community.

'Sweetheart' A One Woman Musical
Sweetheart is a one-person musical that explores the professional life of a remarkable Canadian artist and businesswoman, Mary Pickford. Born in 1892 as Gladys Smith into poverty in Toronto, Ontario, she first became a stage actress, eventually becoming an important Broadway performer and eventually a star in the nascent film industry winning an Oscar in 1929. Her entrepreneurial acumen was revealed when at 27, she created United Artists Studios with Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks and D.W. Griffith thus breaking the control of the major studios.

Music on Union was founded in 2021 to present live music, with a live audience in an indoor setting to the neighbourhood around St. James Anglican Church on Union Street in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
Clare Marion (Piano), Julia McFarlane (Violin) and Wolf Tormann (Cello) perform Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio in D minor Op.49, in Sounds of Hope, a live concert series, presented by Music on Union throughout August-September 2021 on Fridays from 12.10-12.50pm.
